Sigmatus is the experimental electronic music project of Venezuelan producer and multi-instrumentalist Sebastian Blanco. Born in Venezuela and currently based in Paris, France, Blanco began releasing music under the name Sigmatus in 2019. Sigmatus is known for combining elements of IDM, drill and bass, breakcore, and digital hardcore to create immersive and dynamic soundscapes. Influenced by artists such as Aphex Twin, Sigmatus explores a blend of chaotic rhythms, intricate textures, and emotional depth. The project began shortly after Blanco attended an Aphex Twin concert in 2018, which served as a key inspiration for developing an experimental and personal approach to electronic music. The sound of Sigmatus is shaped by the use of drum machines, no-input feedback, and layering techniques that result in detailed, evolving compositions. Tracks often range from meditative to highly energetic, incorporating both analog and digital elements. Sigmatus has performed at events such as the A2B2 Night of Fire, where they were selected by Andy Morin of Death Grips, and has opened for Machine Girl at Le Trabendo in Paris. The artist is also an active member of the Paris-based collective Noisecorp, contributing to the underground experimental and rave scenes. Sigmatus continues to produce and perform music that explores the boundaries of genre and form, with a focus on emotional intensity and sonic exploration. Read more on Last.fm.
