Artist disambiguation: 1. Taku Isaac Sakakibara, aka TaQ, a former producer for Konami's beatmania IIDX videogame series. 2. Taq, a doujin music producer who has been featured on releases by XROGER, Hakke Shoukai, and Handaya Rave labels. Taku Isaac Sakakibara (榊原琢, Sakakibara Taku), best known as TaQ, is one of the biggest names among Japanese musicians contributing to the beatmania IIDX series despite his long absence from it. His music is known for its full sound and more complex rhythms compared to some other IIDX artists, and for pushing the limits of goa, jungle, trance, electronica and techno with a unique sound which fits many genres. Having grown up in Germany, TaQ is also notable for being fluent in German, as shown in his lyrics for various pop'n music songs. He left KONAMI Japan in 2004, shortly after beatmania IIDX 10th style, to focus on other musical endeavors outside of video game, some of which are available to listen to on his website. He has, however, provided a few pop'n music songs with German lyrics since his departure. During his IIDX years, TaQ has worked with both dj TAKA (with whom he's friends) and Des-ROW, using respectively the aliases OutPhase and DesQ. He also released two albums as a solo artist: bounce connected and ongaq:stromatolite. Read more on Last.fm.
