Who or what is Trephines? In ancient times, when madness was thought to be caused by spirits trapped in the head, devices known as trephines were used to create a hole, or physical escape hatch so that these spirits could be released. An allstar cast of Dependent musicians used this metaphor to pour their own mental energy, mad spirits, and cranial fluid onto a six song CD. Since then FOX-TV's hit show 24' snatched up a song, and helped sell a couple CDs to strange American towns. Their self-directed video, when robots attack, was so damn clever it was mentioned on Much Music's top-ten videos about robots. Hooray for drop-D, delay-peddle rock.
