There are at least 2 bands called Xtazy. (1) Xtazy - Progressive metal band from Tunisia (2) Xtazy - Rap band from Bulgaria. 1. -> Xtazy, a progressive metal band from Tunisia was formed in 2001 by Malek Ben Arbia (guitar), Fahmi Chakroun (drums), Oualid Issaoui (guitar), Elyes Bouchoucha (keyboards and vocals) and Zaher Ben Hamoudia (bass). At that time they were all very young musicians (between 13 and 15 years old) sharing the same passion for metal music. Xtazy first started playing a variety of songs of different styles of their favorite bands which goes from blues (Eric Clapton) to heavy metal (Judas Priest, Megadeth, Metallica) to death metal (Death) then with the departure of Oualid Issaoui in late 2003 they were left with only one guitar player (Malek Ben Arbia) so they started playing songs of the Symphony X which has become their favorite band at that time (and still is). In the summer of 2004 Fahmi Chakroun (drums) and Zaher Hamoudia (bass) left the band and were replaced respectively by Saif Ouhibi and Yassine Belgith. With this new line up Xtazy started writing their own songs and on March 2005 they released their first self produced demo ‘’Double Face‘’. Even though the recording was not to international standards (because of lack of good studios in Tunisia) it was well appreciated by the local media and fans especially considering that Xtazy members were very young (between 17 and 19 years of age) and it was their first recoding experience. Xtazy played in several concerts in Tunisia including the 2005 Mediterranean Guitar Festival (2nd edition) and Tabarka World Music Festival. On August 2005 bass player Zaher Hamoudia rejoined the band in replacement of Yassine Belgith. On March 24th 2006 Xtazy opened for Adagio and Robert Plant in the 3rd edition of the Mediterranean Guitar Festival. They changed their name to Myrath before the release of their first album.
