Straight out of Tebet, Jakarta Selatan Amirudin (Lead Guitar), Faeruz Putranta (Bass guitar, Backing vocals), Hersubhan Erdien (Drums), Ichsan Tirtana (Guitar), and Ichwan (Vocal) decided to play their own music under the name Pablo Honey releasing their indie album “First Journey” to mark their existence in the indie music scene. Ichwan left the band soon afterward and was replaced by Joe Danu (JD) on vocals, a very well known radio broadcaster at the time and immediately got signed into a major label (now defunct) Malta records which is best known in the Indonesian music scene as the record label who discovered Club 80's a major Indonesian music act. Under their new contract they released their major label debut “Terang” (2003) and permanently changed their name into D’zeek. They gain positive remarks within Indonesia’s music scene. The band underwent a long hiatus before returning in 2007 with an EP The Oslo Report. They continued to play shows until mid 2008 when they parted ways with JD the frontman. Through mutual friends and connection the band got introduced to Imam Ghazali who accepted the offer to take on the role as main vocal in the band The Year 2009 sees the rebirth of the band as they released their second full-length album, the self titled DZEEK. It contains 13 new songs mostly written in English. Their second album was self produced and self released with the help of DeMajors record label in charge of the physical distribution. The first single from the album Terlihat received warm welcome from listeners which led to the singles's heavy rotation on top Indonesian radio especially in Jakarta. Praised for its unique and distinctive sounds, their self titled album receives positive reviews. Songs from this album were used in a number of Indonesian TV shows and Drama . Around mid 2011 they again parted way with their vocalist Imam on good term and immediately welcomed their new vocalist Iwan Bossman into duty. Iwan is actually dzeek's childhood friend and formerly from Majesty and Kunci. They targeted 2012 for another release.
