The original lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Sou (想), guitarist Zull (Yuzuru), and bassist Inori. Their first recorded live appearance was at Takadanobaba AREA on the day of their formation. The band released Orange-iro no objet in April 2008. In March 2009, they presented the live event Mugon no Shirabe (無言の調べ) at Ikebukuro CHOP and released Chinmoku no Oto. ・・・。【SILENCE】 entered a temporary hiatus in September 2009 and resumed live activities in September 2010. Drummer KIRI joined the band in October 2011. The lineup subsequently consisted of Sou, Zull, Inori, and KIRI. In 2013, the band presented Mugon no Shirabe 2013 and released DREAMER DREAMER. A two-man live with amber gris, Shizukanaru Makkoukujira (静かなるマッコウクジラ), was held at Ikebukuro CHOP in March 2014, followed by the release of Crevice in May. In 2015, ・・・。【SILENCE】 presented Chinmoku no, Utage. (沈黙の、宴。) and released Yasashii Senaka. In September, they performed a three-man live with DISH and Syokudai (Kakkokai), accompanied by the release of AQUARIUM. The band's first one-man live, silent show., was held at Ikebukuro CHOP in March 2016. psycho. was released in April, followed by the silent party new album release memorial event at Ebisu club aim in May. The band entered another temporary hiatus in October 2016 and resumed activities at Takadanobaba AREA in September 2017. In March 2018, ・・・。【SILENCE】 celebrated its 10th anniversary with the one-man live awkward silence. at Ikebukuro CHOP and released baby butterfly. The 11th anniversary was marked by Chinmoku no Ensoukai. (沈黙の演奏会。) in March 2019, alongside the release of ・・・。【ACOUSTIC】. The band continued to hold one-man performances at Ikebukuro CHOP, including Chinmoku no Ensoukai. in September 2020 and the 14th anniversary live silent day in March 2021. After a further gap in documented performances, they held Mahiru no Chinmoku. (真昼の沈黙。) in March 2024, followed by Mugon Da・ylight. in March 2025. In April 2025, they performed a two-man live with L'eprica, titled Shizukana Uso (静かな嘘), at Ikebukuro CHOP.
