From the very beginning its music was inspired by such polish extreme metal acts as Azarath and Dead Infection but the main idea was about taking their extremity to furthest existing border, by creating sounds unbearable even for an advanced listener. Because its master was chaos itself, the group decided to operate on as many interactive levels as humanly possible. That’s why their music sounds like an evil mixture of grind and noise but the elements of free jazz, post black metal or psychedelia are audible as well. That’s why their lyrical concepts are flooded with inhuman shrieks and expressive turpism. Following that path, the trio recorded their first EP, Wombatian Forest and released it in early 2006 under the flag of Kabathian Entertainment, label famous for avant-garde music they promote. The EP was a 9-song-total-carnage. Bass lines lower than a sound of tank, drums from hell and acoustic pieces followed by abstractive piano lines just to add more confusion. Necrowombat's debut was highly acclaimed and named: “the most extreme and noisy record ever heard” by many. After that the group played and recorded a short performance which later became their only live record. In late 2006 Ikith, Vommoth and Zenoth were joined by guitarist Niusathor who previously played on their only gig. With six strings on board the quartet recorded Wombats From Hell, their second mini album. Like its predecessor, it was only 15 minutes long but that was enough for a band like Necrowombat. Once again they slayed but in a different manner. Aware of the WF cult status they changed a bit by adding some ambiental atmosphere, song-like structures here and there and finally a little bit of air. Still it’s a murdering act, with Nasram na Żywo being their most brutal song hitherto. During 2007 Niusathor left the band but they decided not to search for another guitarist and instead hire Khajtooz for the position of second vocalist. His hissing evil voice contrasted guttural screams of Vommoth who then became the lead vocalists. The changes in line-up were followed by changes in music. With a helping hand from a producer and great drummer Vaciq, Necrowombat recorded their last effort entitled W.W.F. which stands for Wombatian Wrestling Federation. Musicians decided to explore their mystical inner selfs buy mixing Slavic folk elements with extreme grindcore. Again, many other musical currents were used in traditional 15 minutes of zombie feasting. After that the band planned to record their first full length album but instead they went on a indefinite hiatus and later disbanded leaving a legion of following fans in grief and confusion. Why Necrowombat entered the grave? No one knows. The band was weird from the very beginning. Band members hide their names under symbolic expressions and later, behind the masks of Slavic gods. Of course you can see their faces on video but still you can guess who is who. That knowledge is concealed by Necrowombat’s tradition of swapping instruments in no particular order. Their sad story ended with a special compilation called Where Dead Wombats Go.
