ZX71

Originating from North Wales, ZX71 found a love for electronic music in the early 80s. Having owned both ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 computers enabled an appreciation for each system as both had their merits. However, it was the C64 with its superior SID sound chip that lead to a particular interest in chip-based tunes. Influenced by the creativity of chip-tune musicians such as Rob Hubbard and Martin Galway, this lead to an interest in MIDI sequencing via the legendary Music-X on an Amiga 500 using a friend's Roland MT-32 (check out Onyxbox). Interest in music technology has continued over the years, but more so recently due to the demise of an E-MU Proteus 2000, which lead to experimentation with VSTs instead of hardware through powerful soft-synth sequencing apps such as Ableton version 7. 'Subsequence' is a purely soft-synth based track that hopefully demonstrates technique and retro interest. Read more on Last.fm.
